LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) highlighted one of their programs Wednesday designed to combat crime in the city.
It's called "Connect Louisville," and it is a camera network designed to assist police officers in solving crimes. LMPD Asst. Chief Corey Robinson said this program aims to help officers be more effective and precise in their response to emergency situations.
But to do this, LMPD is encouraging business owners and other community members to join the network.
So far, there are 273 registered cameras, and 1,392 integrated cameras, according to LMPD.
Robinson said the registered cameras is a list of cameras they know about in Louisville, and the integrated cameras are actually part of their system. They will only have access to camera footage if criminal activ
