FLORENCE, S.C. — UNC Pembroke used two second-half goals and a strong defensive performance to take a 2-0 road win over previously unbeaten and 17th-ranked Francis Marion in Conference Carolinas action Tuesday night at Hartzler Field.

Freya Lodge Whitham and Leila Utate each scored a goal for the Braves, with Jasmin Diop recording two assists and Reagan Carr chipping in with one, as well.

The Black & Gold allowed just two shots on goal, with Addison Ellsworth stopping both to earn her eighth clean sheet of the season.

The Braves (8-6-1, 8-3-1 CC) improved to 6-9-5 in the all-time series with the Patriots (14-1-0, 11-1-0 CC), while moving to 6-2-0 in road contests this season.
