The Detroit Lions signed Aidan Hutchinson to a four-year contract extension , his agent announced Wednesday, worth $180 million with $141 million guaranteed.

He is the ninth Lion to receive a contract extension since spring 2024, bringing the Lions ' total long-term commitment to their draft picks to nearly $1 billion – $968.5 million to be exact – to sign players who they believe are their nucleus.

They include: Hutchinson, quarterback Jared Goff, offensive tackle Penei Sewell, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, safety Kerby Joseph, defensive tackle Alim McNeill, offensive tackle Taylor Decker, running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Jameson Williams.
