The quest to redevelop the two state liquor stores off Interstate 95 in Hampton into service areas will continue as a new request goes out seeking a partner to make the project happen under a 35-year lease.
Previous plans to sell most of the land were put on hold over the summer after Gov. Kelly Ayotte instructed the state Liquor Commission to pursue a deal where the state will keep the land and lease it to a private development group — much like the service centers off Interstate 93 in Hooksett.
The commission hopes the northbound side will be substantially complete and operational no later than Sept. 15, 2027, and the southbound side no longer than Feb. 15, 2028. The liquor stores must remain open during construction.
Four companies had submitted bids to buy the properties, including
