Nashua aldermen have approved two ordinances proposed earlier this year in hopes of mitigating the growing encampments of homeless people across the city.
One prohibits camping on public property. The other identifies the types of vehicles prohibited. A third ordinance, which would restrict parking on Celina Avenue, was indefintely postponed.
The approvals came at a marathon Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday night that stretched into early Wednesday.
The camping prohibition, O-25-079, was the subject of much discussion among board members, some of whom floated various amendments.
One amendment, proposed by Ward 9 Alderman John Sullivan, eliminates wording that police must give homeless people camping illegally in an encampment of six or more occupants a 15-day window to move out.
