LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Millions of Americans who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are at risk of losing their benefits in November.
SNAP benefits are set to expire on Saturday, Nov. 1 , due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, which reached Day 29 Wednesday with no resolution in sight.
Gov. Andy Beshear said more than 600,000 Kentuckians rely on SNAP benefits. Another roughly 600,000 Hoosiers across Indiana also rely on SNAP benefits.
The Associated Press created an interactive map using data from the U.S. Census to provide a county-by-county breakdown of how many households in each state will be directly impacted by the loss of SNAP funding.
