A local restaurant in Corinth is stepping up for children in the community after the government announced SNAP benefits are not being given out in November.
According to frca.org, about 181,500 children in Mississippi rely on SNAP for food in the fiscal year 2023.
Pizza Grocery is an Italian restaurant at 800 Cruise St #4906 in Corinth. Starting tomorrow, October 30, all children who come inside can eat at no cost at the restaurant until SNAP benefits are restored.
The restaurant shared a statement saying,
“We do not intend to take sides or make this offer political – we simply believe that no child should go hungry.”
Any child who dines in at Pizza Grocery will be given a free Kid’s Meal. This applies to dine-in food only. No purchase is necessary, no questions asked.
