NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville has been selected to host the 2034 Special Olympics USA Games.
The bid committee and Special Olympics North America announced the selection on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and signed a letter of agreement during a ceremony at Bridgestone Arena.
According to officials, the event is set to bring 4,000 athletes, 100,000 visitors and a $100 million economic impact to Middle Tennessee.
Along with Special Olympics North America, the games is also partnering with Vanderbilt University and the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. Nashville was recommended to host the games, as Special Olympics North America believed the city submitted an outstanding and heartfelt bid.
