FLOYD, Va. (WDBJ) - Abigail Spanberger received a rousing welcome when she rolled into Floyd County earlier this week.

“She is your next Governor. She is a servant of the people. She is Abigail Spanberger. Yahoo,” the emcee declared to a crowd of more than 100 people.

The Democratic nominee was near the front end of an 11-day 40-stop bus tour that would carry her to Election Day.

“I’m excited about this election, because despite the challenges that we face and our communities face, it’s an opportunity for us to say what we want instead,” Spanberger told the crowd. “We want a governor who will focus on strengthening our healthcare amid the attacks from Washington that continue to tear it down.”

Spanberger was born in New Jersey, and moved to Virginia at the age of 13.
