AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - Fleming Park played a part in Augusta's recovery from Helene serving as a debris drop off location, park goers don't miss the mess. “We couldn't hardly drive this way because of all the trucks and all the debris. My tires were messed up everything was messed up,” said Cookie McCoy of Augusta. Last October, the city began picking up the mountains of storm debris left behind by Helene, spending more than $65 million. Now, the city one of the top in Georgia getting its coffers refilled.
