EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - It was a special day for some Evansville students as Cops Connecting with kids revealed who will be joining them for the big trip to Disney World.

School leaders at Cedar Hall Elementary hosted a Monster Inc. themed assembly, where officers announced the 8 students that will be joining them for the trip.

The students are selected by their teachers based on classroom effort, positive behavior and leadership.

The mission of this trip is to build positive relationships between the youth and law enforcement.

Founder Jason Cullum says it’s a tradition he hopes will continue for many years.

This was the first of several reveals.

All the kids will be heading to Disney World in January.
