It was a soaker with wind-whipped rain totaling up to well over an inch in Springfield. The heaviest totals were centered over Southern Missouri, with many locations from Cassville to West Plains receiving an inch or more of rainfall. The heavy rain brought the monthly total to just over 3" in Springfield.
The rain tapered off to some drizzle during the afternoon and has since completely shut off. There were even a few breaks in the clouds before sunset. The clearing trend will continue overnight, and winds will also quickly ease. This will set the stage for morning lows in the upper 30s.
Colder air pouring in behind the departing storm will continue into Thursday. This will set the stage for some cloud cover by afternoon across much of the area. This will make for another chilly day wit
