RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - On Tuesday, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a Category 5 hurricane around 12 p.m. noon.

One family in Rutherford County, T.J. and Janice Jernigan, said they were concerned after they lost contact with their daughter, Jazzy, and her husband, Romario.

The next day, on Wednesday, the Jernigans said they heard from their daughter and son-in-law.

“They are ok,” T.J. said in a Facebook post.
