Canberra public transport users had been waiting patiently for years for a better ticketing system.

What they were finally delivered last November was a dog's breakfast, a disaster of such a proportion it could be called epic if it weren't now just sadly typical of digital service delivery in the ACT .

That much was evident in the first hours of the rollout, when weeks of ineffective public messaging left families at their breakfast tables trying to operate a bewildering online system just to get their kids off to school .

Hours and days of revelations followed as problems around accessibility, live tracking, data security and a cursed QR code system turned MyWay+ into the definition of an omnishambles.
