CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — While SNAP benefits will not be coming in November, there are still ways for those in need to get help.
One of those ways is through the United Way of Central West Virginia's 211 hotline.
The hotline is available 24/7 for those seeking access to free assistance when it comes to not only food, but counseling, disaster assistance and housing.
United Way of Central West Virginia's community impact director, Kerri Cooper, said that the organization has been working closely with all nonprofits in the region to get the proper support for those in need. She said that the hotline has been getting a lot of calls in recent days, so for anyone who leaves a message, she says they will receive a call back as soon as possible.
