Whitehouse grandfather builds backyard haunted house for his grandkids

WHITEHOUSE, Ohio — When you love your family, you’ll do just about anything for them.

For Scott Thompson of Whitehouse, that meant turning his backyard into a haunted house, built entirely for his grandkids.

With stacks of wooden pallets, a few skeletons and a big imagination, Thompson spent four weeks creating a spooky homemade attraction packed with ghostly décor and laughter.

“I don’t think a lot of grandpas do this stuff for their grandkids,” one of his grandkids said.

Thompson, a grandfather of five, says once he gets an idea, he doesn’t stop.

“Once I get something in my mind, I just keep going and going,” he said.

Inside the haunted house, called BooVille, visitors will find rooms covered in fabrics with ghosts, skeleton chambers and handmade costumes, many of which Thompson cr
