PORTLAND, Ore. — A woman is dead after being struck by a car in the Gateway neighborhood on Wednesday night.

At 7:57 p.m., Portland police and Portland Fire & Rescue responded to the crash on Northeast 102nd Avenue between Northeast Pacific Street and Northeast Halsey Street.

Police said the pedestrian, a woman, was dead at the scene. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Police have not identified either the pedestrian or driver.

Northeast 102nd Avenue is closed in both directions between Northeast Pacific Street and Northeast Halsey Street as police investigate.
