A Glasgow speed camera has been revealed as the most prolific speed camera in Scotland after racking up £700,000 in fines.
The temporary roadworks camera at the Provan Interchange junction of the M8 and M80 detected 6939 speeding offences last year. It had the highest "volume of enforcement" in the country.
The TASCAR (Temporary Average Speed Camera), which was installed in 2024 at a speed limit of 40mph due to roadworks, has since been removed. Speed camera offences carry a Fixed Penalty Fine of £100 and three penalty points.
Drivers can choose to accept the offer instead of going to court, where they could face an increased penalty if found guilty, reports the Record . It means the potential income from the Glasgow TASCAR camera to the Scottish Government could be an eye-wateri
