Two Tennessee Valley restaurants received failing scores this week after inspectors found employees handling food with bare hands, a "strong odor" from overall dirtiness, and grease on floors.
Cleveland’s Mexico Lindo Mexican Restaurant received a score of 69, the report citing workers handling food with their bare hands.
The inspector found pre-made food being handled by cooks without gloves, along with employees improperly washing their hands; grabbing raw shrimp with gloved hands before touching other pre-made food, cutting boards, and other kitchen utensils.
Chemical pesticides were stored next to restaurant cleaning chemicals, heavy ice was built up on the walk-in freezer, and multiple dirty dishes were found incorrectly stored in the kitchen sink.
