GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - On Wednesday night, the GHS volleyball team returned to their high standard of play as the Lady Canes rattled off their sixth straight win and ended the 14-year drought away from State.
In only her second year as head coach, decorated GHS alum Jerica Carter-Mitchell turned the Lady Canes back into the elite program she was part of, back when she played under legendary coach Cindy Boulware, playing four times in the Final Four and winning two state titles.
Also, GHS libero Addy Hauptman crossed a career milestone with 1,000 digs, more on that below.
Unfortunately, the road ended at Merritt Island for Santa Fe as they missed out on the 4A Final Four in a three-set sweep. The Raiders finish the season at 20-10.
