DIERKS, Ark. — The small town of Dierks, Arkansas, erupted in celebration Thursday morning after Dierks High School was named the grand prize winner of the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights competition, securing a transformative $1 million stadium makeover.
Students and staff gathered for a watch party in the school gymnasium to hear the announcement, concluding a fierce public voting phase that saw the Howard County school surge ahead of competitors.
The prize package for the winning high school is valued at $1 million and will bring state-of-the-art facilities to the Outlaws’ athletic program. The complete package includes:
