LINDALE, Texas — East Texans are rallying behind a Lindale woman whose life changed forever after a 2023 skiing accident left her paralyzed at just 18 years old.

Now, Hannah Evans is a full-time college student in Tyler, working to regain her independence with the help of friends who launched a fundraiser for a new wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

“It felt like my independence was stolen from me,” Evans said. “Not even being able to leave my home without depending on a whole mess of people.”

In March 2023, during her senior year spring break trip to Colorado, Evans survived a catastrophic skiing accident that resulted in a T-10 complete spinal cord injury, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.
