(CNN) – Dictionary.com has announced its word of the year: 67 , pronounced as six-seven.
It’s a slang phrase that’s widely used by the Gen Alpha age group.
Six-seven has ties to rapper Skrilla’s song “Doot Doot.”
Some say the term means “so-so” or “maybe this, maybe that,” according to the digital dictionary.
Dictionary.com’s Word of the Year is meant to put a spotlight on social trends and global events that define the year.
The online dictionary said it analyzes news headlines, social media and more to find what makes the biggest impact on conversations.
Searches for 67 have dramatically increased since the summer.
