MINOT, N.D. (KFYR) - A high-speed chase early Thursday morning caused a power outage in southwest Minot.
Minot Police say 27-year-old Christopher Isaac DeSantiago of Minot Air Force Base reached speeds of more than 100 mph. Police ended the pursuit, and DeSantiago’s car hit a transformer box at the intersection of 31st Avenue and 13th Street Southeast.
DeSantiago and two others left the car and ran away, but were officers quickly found them. The car caught fire, causing the outage. The Minot Fire Department put it out.
DeSantiago is charged with fleeing, risk of death, reckless endangerment, DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
