Outback Steakhouse has closed two of its Alabama restaurants as part of a broader effort to improve the company's performance , the restaurant chain confirmed.

The closure followed a periodic review of the company's locations, said Bloomin' Brands spokesperson Elizabeth Daly. "There are business decisions that are part of our ongoing turnaround plan," she said.

Daly said the company weighed several factors before making the decision, including sales and traffic, the trade areas where the restaurants operated and the potential for future investment to boost performance.
