AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A man is facing federal charges after authorities report finding $1 million worth of heroin on a Greyhound Bus in Amarillo.

According to court documents filed on October 29, an Amarillo Police Department K9 officer was patrolling incoming greyhound buses in Amarillo on October 28.

Around 4:15 p.m., the officer deployed his K9 to sniff the baggage from a bus. The K9 alerted to narcotics inside a duffel bag, so the officer searched the bag.

Court documents say the officer found three bundles containing heroin inside the bag.

Investigators then observed Damian Galindo Huerta retrieve the bag from the luggage bin.

Police arrested him, and court document say he admitted to investigators that the heroin came from Mexico.
