An Indian restaurant on Wellington Road is ending its 40-year run because the city needs the property for its expanding bus rapid transit system.

“We are being HIT BY THE BUS. The city’s BRT is running right through our building,” Curry’s Restaurant said in a post on Facebook announcing its closing on Nov. 30.

Pramod and Susan Kukadia, who own the restaurant at 118 Wellington Rd. S., said they were blindsided when they received an expropriation notice from the city on Sept. 23. The notice says the city will take possession of the property on Nov. 10.
