GARY, Ind. (WNDU) - U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem is holding a news conference in Gary to discuss the results of Operation Midway Blitz.

The operation has been going on in Chicago since Sept. 9. It focuses on illegal immigrants with criminal records.

ICE has arrested more than 1,500 people in the Chicago area, according to federal police.

Noem will be joined by Indiana Gov. Mike Braun, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, acting ICE Director Todd Lyons and several others.
