PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — For those looking to get into the Halloween spirit, Thursday will not be the night for it.
The forecast calls for widespread, sometimes heavy rain and strong wind gusts Thursday evening. The rain will end around 3 a.m., but the gusty winds are expected to stick around for Halloween.
People who have decorated their yards are urged to make sure their decorations are secure and any electronics are waterproofed.
Localized street flooding is also possible, so drivers should use caution on the roads.
Because of the anticipated stormy weather, the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo will be closed Thursday night.
The Block Island Ferry also canceled all of its remaining service for the day.
