Adding courses to the Chandler Unified junior high or high school course catalogs is, routinely, a two-year process, according to one CUSD administrator.
Assistant Superintendent Jessica Edgar, presenting the district’s new proposed 2026-27 courses for seventh-12th grades at the CUSD Governing Board’s Oct. 22 meeting, said that school-site and district administration and leadership process is for all catalog changes.
“In addition to new courses, we also list courses no longer offered,” Edgar told the board. “A lot of our decisions on electives are not only driven by student and parent interest, but also by staffing possibilities. We have a finite number of full-time staff. And we add or subtract offerings at specific sites as interest and pathways change.”
