CLEVELAND — With the U.S. Department of Agriculture poised to freeze payments to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) amid the ongoing government shutdown, political leaders in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County have called a press conference for Friday to announce "a major emergency fund."

The briefing will be held at 11 a.m. at the May Dugan Center on Bridge Avenue in Cleveland.
