MORGANTOWN W.Va. — Sixth-grade students at South Middle School got an early start on thinking about their futures Thursday morning during a hands-on career expo organized by the West Virginia K–12 Speakers Bureau and the West Virginia Public Education Collaborative (WVPEC) at West Virginia University.
The event, held in three sessions throughout the day, brought together around 240 students to explore a range of careers in fields such as STEAM, health sciences, agriculture, the arts, information technology, and audio and video production.
Representatives from WVU Medicine, WVU Extension, M&S Consulting, WV SPOT, and other state organizations led interactive demonstrations and discussions designed to inspire curiosity and showcase opportunities available in West Virginia.
