The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 1:16 p.m. on Thursday valid from Friday 11 a.m. until Saturday 8 a.m. for Hamilton, Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Warren, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster, Dutchess and Washington counties.
The weather service comments, "West winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 to 50 mph expected."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may occur," adds the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
