LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The second-largest measles outbreak in the U.S. this year continues to expand, with 13 new cases confirmed this week.
The outbreak in the Utah-Arizona border community of Colorado City, about 160 miles east of Las Vegas, is now up to 138 cases.
The Arizona Department of Health Services reports 93 cases in Mohave County. Three hospitalizations are also reported, and four more cases have been confirmed farther east in Navajo County.
Health officials at the Southwest Utah Public Health Department have not responded to 8 News Now's requests for updates, but a Salt Lake City ABC station on Wednesday reported 45 cases in the area, and 59 statewide. All but two of those cases are in unvaccinated patients, the report said.
