KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A new program in partnership with United Way of Greater Knoxville is helping feed families with the food left over from University of Tennessee football games.
United Way of Greater Knoxville has collaborated with a local company who works in partnership with stadium food vendors as well as the existing network of partners and nonprofits in our community to make this happen.
“Each of the home games this season we're anticipating 5,000 to 6,000 pounds of food that will be shared from the stadium in our broader community with nonprofits who will make sure that that food is getting into the hands of our neighbors who need it,” said President and CEO of United Way of Greater Knoxville Chrystal Armstrong Brown.
