KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Charges are pending against a driver accused of driving the wrong way on Locust Street, clipping a Knoxville Area Transit bus and hitting another vehicle head-on, Knoxville Police said.
The department shared that officers were working at the scene of the crash on Locust Street at Cumberland Avenue just before 10:45 a.m.
According to police, a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Locust Street clipped a KAT bus before hitting another vehicle head-on. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle reportedly ran from the scene but was captured by nearby officers. Only minor injuries were reported after the crash.
