Hundreds of patients, staff and visitors have been killed at at a hospital by paramilitary forces while the death toll in a Sudanese city described as "hell on Earth" is now more than 1,500. ‌

People fleeing the western city of el-Fasher in wartorn Sudan have been giving harrowing accounts of atrocities carried out by fighters as they seized the provincial capital of North Darfur over the weekend, according to the UN. ‌
