An updated flood advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 5:38 p.m. in effect until 7:15 p.m. for Putnam and Westchester counties.

The weather service states to prepare for, "Minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues."

"Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas," explains the weather service. "Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads."
