The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood statement at 2:46 a.m. on Friday in effect until 8 a.m. for Queens as well as Suffolk and Nassau counties.
The weather service describes, "1 ft or less of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."
"Some water on low-lying roads and property," explains the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
