All Creatures Great and Small fans were left "sobbing" as the series wrapped with a "heartbreaking" episode that saw Tristan break down as he talked about the war.
The Channel 5 period drama, which chronicles the life of Yorkshire vet James Herriot ( Nicholas Ralph ), returned for its sixth series last month and came to an end on Thursday (October 30) with a moving instalment in which Tristan (Callum Woodhouse) finally talked about his experiences during the war and the story behind his Military Cross.
It had viewers in floods of tears, with many posting messages on X (formerly Twitter ) saying they were "devastated" and "sobbing" over the moving scenes.
