Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell believes he was "unlucky" during his lackluster outing, despite pitching well.
Snell allowed six hits, four free bases, and two home runs, both of which came on the first two batters that he faced, Davis Schneider and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The Dodgers were tied 2-2 heading in the World Series heading into Game 5 of the World Series. It was their last home game of the series, making it all the more pivotal that they win.
Manager Dave Roberts trusted Snell with the ball for the pivotal game, though things quickly went awry after the leadoff home runs. Both Schneider and Guerrero crushed Snell's fastball, prompting the pitcher to throw offspeed pitches, which allowed him to settle into the game.
