A young Florida father-to-be who was left in a coma following a violent car crash regained consciousness long enough to rat out his girlfriend for deliberately causing the crash, authorities said.
New York native Daniel Waterman implicated Leigha Mumby as he claimed his girlfriend sneered, “I don’t care what happens. You’ll get what you deserve,” while the pair were driving along Interstate 95 in Florida’s Flagler County during an argument the night of the Super Bowl last February, court papers show.
With Mumby, 24, allegedly behind the wheel and Waterman, 22, in the passenger’s seat, the car barreled into a tree, leading the beau to suffer severe injuries that left him in a coma, the victim’s mother told syracuse.com .
