LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The kitchen of Feed Louisville in Butchertown has never been busier.

Even before the threat of interrupting SNAP benefits, rising costs had SNAP recipients turning more and more to community food sources.

“So, the system was already stressed,” Feed Louisville founder Rhona Khmar said. “We’re starting out this month of November already under stress.”

Feed Louisville turns out 700-800 meals a day.

If they get more help, they could ramp up to 1200 meals a day.

Anticipating a SNAP cutoff, Feed Louisville published a donation list of 19 essential non-perishable items for a SNAP food drive.

Feeding more people starts with finding more food.
