PLANO, Texas — Tenants living at the Evana Grove Apartments in Plano are being forced to move out after a judge ruled the complex is no longer safe to live in.
A Collin County judge ordered all tenants to vacate the property by Nov. 4, after city officials said the apartments were unsafe and unsanitary, with no working gas, water or sewage, and extensive infrastructure problems.
Court documents reveal “numerous City Code violations” at the property, including 1,458 found during inspections by the City Neighborhood Services Department. Violations at the apartments included unsanitary conditions, trash and debris, prohibited sewer discharge and failure to provide hot and cold running water.
