A suspect was arrested for murder after a man was found shot to death near the Los Angeles Riverbed in Long Beach.
On July 16, Long Beach police responded to the riverbed near the 91 Freeway around 11:18 a.m. to investigate reports of a body found.
The victim, Martin Segura, 40, was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspects were located nearby. Police said he was homeless at the time.
Following a months-long investigation, detectives identified the suspected shooter as Andrew Lozano, 31, a man who was also homeless.
On Oct. 29, Lozano was located and arrested in Long Beach. The motive behind the deadly shooting remains under investigation.
Police said Lozano was also booked for an outstanding, unrelated warrant. He remains in custod
