PORTLAND, Conn. (WFSB) - State police and Portland police are working together to stop a street takeover on Halloween.
According to the Portland Police Department, students from several neighboring high schools may be organizing a street takeover on Halloween night near the industrial park area by the Arrigoni bridge, allowing easy access in and out of town.
Some of the schools named are Haddam Killingworth High School, Coginchaug Regional High School and Vinal Technical High School .
“These incidents have the potential to be extremely dangerous, disrupt travel on our roadways, are illegal, and will not be tolerated in our communities ," state police said.
State police are asking parents to speak to their kids about the dangers of attending or participating in a street takeover.
