At the last Roseville City Council before the election, mayoral hopeful Edward Stross questioned the incumbent mayor’s residency and used a profane comment about a city booster who serves as a volunteer driver for area seniors.
Stross, a controversial artist whose name will not appear on the Nov. 4 ballot, has launched a write-in campaign to challenge longtime Mayor Robert Taylor.
The owner of Gonzo Art Studio on Gratiot Avenue used the public comment section of the council agenda to speak about the types of businesses in the city and the future of the vacant Roseville Theatre.
“All right, Mr. Mayor, and I hope you live in the city, too,” Stross said at the conclusion of his remarks.
