BOISE, Idaho — A Thursday crash, which initially law enforcement believed to be an impaired driving incident, is now being investigated as a medical emergency.
The Idaho State Police (ISP) issued a news release on Friday stating that, after receiving information from the medical staff at the hospital he was transported to, they are investigating the incident as a medical emergency.
“Some medical emergencies can appear nearly identical to impaired driving. Law enforcement must approach every situation with caution to protect both the public and themselves,” said Lieutenant Brandalyn Crapo of the Idaho State Police. “However, not all the factors of this investigation have been vetted, and troopers will continue to investigate.”
