NEVADA, Mo. — A man from Nevada, Missouri, was jailed by city police earlier this month after repeatedly calling 911 to report what ended up being legal marijuana use.
Online court dockets say Darell Scott West, born in 1981, has been charged with making a false report, a misdemeanor.
The probable cause statement says a Nevada Police Department (NPD) officer responded to a Nevada apartment complex at around 9:07 p.m. on Oct. 15 for a report of narcotics use, only to find the incident unfounded.
About 30 minutes later, dispatchers received another call reporting the same issue at a different apartment in the same complex. The caller did not provide a name, but when officers arrived, West approached them and said he was the one who made the call, the statement says.
