Cypress Park— An uninjured person who was found in a storm drain in Cypress Park was freed today following a short rescue operation.
Firefighters responded at 1:22 p.m. to the 3200 block of North Arroyo Seco Avenue to reports of an individual in a confined space needing rescue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The rescue operation prompted a closure of the southbound Arroyo Seco Parkway (110 Freeway) transition to the 5 Freeway.
According to LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart, firefighters were able to quickly remove a gate covering the storm drain, and the man was able to climb out.
It was unclear how the person wound up in the drain.
